Meeting God In Everyday Things

Finally back from a month away enjoying time with my children and grandchildren. Now it’s time to get up and running on all of my projects. I am picking up where I left off on some, and even starting on some new ones. I love a challenge and some of these new ones are going to take me way out of my comfort zone.

Of course, there has been some catching up to do on the ordinary tasks around the house and so it is taking me a while to get back to those things I really enjoy doing. Sometimes you have to do what I call the “nasty necessaries” like housework and setting right the things that have kind of slipped out of order in your absence! LOL

I had big plans yesterday for taking major steps back to my normal routine. Well, those plans went right out the window, literally, when I looked out the back window of the screen room. The back yard was out of control! So I worked in the yard instead, until around 1:30, trimming shrubs and getting rid of some excess vegetation.

It was nothing that interfered with God speaking to me. He gave me a life lesson on “pruning to bring forth new growth” spiritually. WOW! Have enough notes to put together a teaching; article; whatever!

You know, He really is all around us, in everything; and if you look hard enough, and quiet your own thoughts long enough, you can hear Him teaching you about Himself, and His plans for your life, in the simplest of things. Paraphrasing: “The invisible things of God are clearly seen; being understood by the things that are made.”

God is not the “author of confusion.” When things get confusing, or there are too many voices, or too many choices…get intentional about shutting yourself off somewhere with God alone, and letting Him sort it all out. Take a walk… aloneand, if possible, somewhere in the midst of as much nature as you can find. (People are great company and having friends is a wonderful blessing, but sometimes you just need Him. That wonderful safe place I always talk about!)

Each day is a blessing… no matter how I spend it… because God joins me in it… and that’s what really matters! So very grateful that He cares about me and is willing to do that!
